This class is perfect for beginners to anyone that wants to refresh their skills or to learn in-depth how exposure works, so you are able to get the best exposure to achieve your vision for a photograph. With the help of the exposure triangle and tailored exercises you will learn how Aperture, Shutter and ISO work together, how the different metering modes in the camera works, when to use which and how to verify if got a good exposure. You will also learn how to create motion blur, out of focus backgrounds and vice versa, along with techniques and tools for those extremely difficult exposures.

Astro landscape is a challenging, but fun, rewarding and interesting genre of photography that sets itself apart from other astro photography by including landscape detail in the shot. In this class, you will learn everything from how to plan, prepare for and capture amazing astro landscape images on your own, be it the spot stars, star trails, meteor showers or the Milky Way. Weather dependent class: If there is too much cloud cover, this class will move to another weekend. Should that happen as much advanced notice as possible will be given including the new date.

Come along to our photo sessions to dust off your camera and get snap-happy with a professional photography instructor.
Brush up on your camera skills and learn new photography techniques whilst on a photo walk class with other local keen photographers!

We run two hour photography sessions based on a photography theme/technique/style and they take place in various locations across the region.
New to photography? We also run a popular 3 hour Beginners Guide to Photography Class once a month.
And once in a while we will run special niche 3 hour classes, for example, Astrophotography - so do subscribe to our newsletter to know when the next on is!

Who can attend? Open to all skill levels, from beginners to keen amateurs. The photography instructor is there to help you with camera settings and provide any advice you need.

What to bring? We recommend bringing a camera that has full manual mode or semi-manual modes (Aperture or Shutter Priority). Compact cameras and smartphones also welcome!

The meeting point and full details for the day are sent in the booking confirmation email to the email address you provide at time of booking.

Our classes and photography sessions are limited to a max of 5 students - due to current COVID restrictions
We ask that everyone attending a meetup follows social distancing guidelines:

Stay home if you're sick.
Keep 1.5 metres away from others.
Don't make unnecessary physical contact with others. Avoid physical greetings, such as handshakes, hugs and kisses.
Wash your hands regularly with alcohol-based sanitiser.
Cover your mouth and nose when you cough or sneeze. Use a flexed elbow or a tissue; if you use a tissue, dispose of it immediately and appropriately.

Chris is an amazing teacher and such a nice guy too. He was so knowledgable. He was always checking in with everyone. I realised I had been doing things wrong. I?m looking forward to doing more classes from Chris.

Ver y good and informative . I think it was up to the right standard . Sometimes with a group of pupils it is quite hard for the lecturer to get a common level of experience , but this time I think he was lucky , as we were all I think of the same level of experience or knowledge . I thought it was a great idea to have these 'projects' to do during the class .
